    Cal Law - Cal Law is the complete daily briefing for California lawyers and their clients, offering the latest court opinions from all appellate courts, topical updates and analysis from major law firms, plus links to California legal resources on the Internet and statewide job listings for lawyers. Cal Law is an online publication of The Recorder, California's leading legal newspaper.

    The Legislative Branch

    • California State Senate - directory of Senators and committees, search text of bills, code, rules, legislative calendars, links to state agencies, and more.

    The Judicial Branch

    • California Courts - The State of California Judicial Branch Web site provides access to California courts that have Web sites; explains the California court system; provides jury duty information; lists court-related publications, several of which are available online; and provides information on the activities of the Judicial Council and the Administrative Office of the Courts.
    • California Case Law - Findlaw's collection of California Supreme Court and Court of Appeals cases from October 1996 to present. Search by party name or browse chronologically. Provides cases in both HTML and Portable Document Format.
    • Appellate Decisions Noted- A monthly report on recent decisions of interest from federal and state appellate courts in California.
    • State Bar of California - Official information from State Bar of California regarding State Bar activities; consumer information; searchable text of Calif.. statutes and rules regulating law practice, et al.
    • Rules of Court - A searchable version of the California Appellate Rules of Court provided by the State Bar.
    • United States Supreme Court -- The Court finally launched a web site in February. The keen feature is the availability of Court opinions in Portable Document Format. They currently only provide the 1999 Term opinions.
    • Los Angeles Municipal Court - A great deal of information about citations, answers to procedural questions, free judicial council forms, and court addresses.
    • Los Angeles Superior Court - An archaic looking site that contains court news, court rules, jurisdiction information, Superior Court forms, and a particularly helpful function called "Civil Calendar" that permits one to get information on a matter by searching with the case number.

    • California Governor Page - Information about Governor Davis and his administration, including full-text of his executive orders

    • Alameda County Bar Association - A non-profit bar association offering programs to improve access to justice. Programs include the Lawyer Referral Service, Voluntary Legal Services Corporation, Court Appointed Attorneys Program, Small Claims Advisor Program.
    • State Bar of California Member Records Online - Information available online includes; name, address, telephone, fax and e-mail numbers, date of admission to the California Bar, undergraduate and law schools attended and whether the member is entitled to practice law in California at this time.

    General Interest Pages

    • Appellate Counselor Home Page - News about the federal and state appellate courts in California, including a monthly newsletter on recent decisions, judicial profiles and an online legal bookstore.
    • Internet for Lawyers - A California Bar Association-approved MCLE provider that offers Internet legal research training.
    • California Voter Foundation - A non-profit organization that seeks to provide information for California citizens. Includes proposition details and a donor list.
    • California Anti-SLAPP Project - CASP assists the public and legal community in defending against "strategic lawsuits against public participation" (SLAPPs). It monitors SLAPPs in California is active in educating the public on the threat to the First Amendment from SLAPPs.
